For
this recording, Allyn has chosen nineteen beautiful songs
surrounding the theme of inner peace and spiritual sanctuary.
Many of these are set to beloved Bible passages, three to
poems of Mary Baker Eddy, and the singer herself has written
original lyrics to well-known melodies of Grieg and Mendelssohn.
She is accompanied by organist Antonius Bittmann, who
received his extensive training under the finest teachers
in Germany and at The Eastman School of Music. They
each composed a song especially for this project. The
music was digitally recorded on the exquisite 1916 Casavant
organ at First Church of Christ, Scientist, Rochester, New
York, where Antonius and Allyn enjoyed a wonderful five year
collaboration. Their sensitive musical interpretations
will surely bring peace to your heart.
